Gil is a reflection of my affection for one of the greatest movie monsters of all time. The Creature, who was designed by Milicent Patrick, lurked in the dark waters of the Black Lagoon. Perhaps in the swampy Florida waters of my childhood as well. Don’t believe me? Shine a flashlight along the shore of a favorite sinkhole or pond, just as the sun starts to set. You might just see a pair of eyes glinting in the growing darkness….
