Happy New Year!
Okay, it’s true. This is a little late, but life is never a straight line. We have had our ups and our downs, and it can sometimes be difficult to spend a lot of time in the studio. No worries, though. There’s always a free moment somewhere, and we are making good strides on creating a studio that meets my needs. So, you may see more encaustic work in the coming year. I am also embracing the “try everything” mindset, because self limiting is not good for my practice. No time to do wax today? No problem. I can work on collage. No way to work on mixed media on a road trip? No problem. I can knit. Arthritis bothering my hands? No problem. I can pull a gelatin print. We don’t know what may be around the corner in these crazy times, but I am confident that there will always be beautiful, inspiring moments. May we all move forward with good health, inner tranquility and lots of fun art supplies!
My new studio assistant and muse Shug (as in Southern slang for sugar or sweetie).
