The Beauty Queen Project

I have a confession. I don’t know what I am doing. I am not sure where to begin and I am not at all certain where this journey will take me. But that is okay. I know enough to move forward.

Have you ever been in a rut? Then you know the sense of restlessness and irritation I am experiencing. I understand that those feelings are my actions rubbing up against old values, assumptions, beliefs and expectations. I am out of alignment, so it is time to adjust. Thus, the Beauty Queen Project is underway.

This blog is documentation of a work in progress. It is a testament of my efforts to finish a specific work of art, but there’s no telling how things will unfold.

This project is dedicated to my mother, Gloria Gonzalez Polo. She was kind, funny, intelligent, industrious, ambitious, creative and so much more. Some people were too fixated on her physical beauty to notice those attributes. Their loss.
